Bio
: Marina is the Founder and Executive Director of Ascend. Her efforts have established a global organization dedicated to helping girls learn and practice leadership through physical activity. With an educational background in international affairs and public policy, she has over two decades of experience in South Asia and the Caucasus region. After her tenure with international aid agencies, Marina launched Ascend as an independent venture in 2015. She holds an MPA from Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government and an MA from George Washington University. In 2022, she received the Harvard Kennedy School’s Alumni Public Service Award.
